Adios Mac & Stees...

…And HELLO Farm to Table Burritos!

Happy Monday, Y’all!

Have you seen? We’ve updated our website domain and instagram handle to Farm to Table Burritos!

Many of you have asked, why is the company named Mac & Stees?

Great question, and for those of you who don’t already know, we’ll summarize briefly here.

Mac & Stees began as a passion project for elevated comfort food. With many years of experience working in and frequenting the restaurant industry, we LOVE classic American pub food. But after embarking on a health journey, we found many of these dishes no longer aligned with our health goals.

We still wanted to eat the fun things, but all the splurge worthy food was loaded with gluten, hidden sugars, seed oils, CAFO meat, GMO corn and more. It became so UNFUN to dine out and always think “guess I won’t be having that!” to all my favorite foods.

So then we thought, why couldn’t we open a restaurant where EVERYTHING was made from health promoting ingredients? A place where you could literally order anything off the menu without question or hesitation. And since mac & cheese was my favorite dish, we were going to have a section on the menu devoted to indulgent, specialty mac and cheese flavors (think jalapeño popper, pork chile verde, cheesesteak…sound familiar?). And that’s where the name came to life…enter Mac & Stees.

When we had the business plan finalized, the location scouted and were ready to hit the ground running, Covid hit the scene and we had a brand new baby boy. Opening a restaurant was no longer part of the plan. So we pivoted and that is how the burrito business was born! (If you missed it, you can read more about it here on our blog).

When we first launched our burritos, we used Mac & Stees as the umbrella name for the company that would feature our Mini Burritos. Then we called them Brunch Burritos. We sold them fresh. Then frozen in two packs. In bags. Then boxes. We had no idea what we were doing but we were determined to make REAL FOOD MORE ACCESSIBLE.

And now we’re three years in, absolutely thriving and so grateful to have recipes we love, amazing partnerships with the best farmers and ranchers in town, and a tortilla that wraps up just about any Farm to Table meal so that you can have a clean, convenient, delicious product sitting in your freezer for times when you can’t (or don’t want to) cook or clean.

Changing the name to Farm to Table Burritos will simplify communication. It highlights what we make and why in a clean, concise way. As we are ramping up growth to bring y’all even more, even better offerings, we realized that Mac & Stees was only bringing confusion and have decided to part ways with that name.

We believe you shouldn’t have to sacrifice flavor for nutrition, or convenience for quality. Real, wholesome food should be the norm! So while you can always look to the Stees family for help with eating clean, living well, and having fun, we excitedly redirect you to our new name and internet locations :)
