But Why BURRITOS?!

Happy Monday, Y’all!
Many of you who have been following our journey know we are real food enthusiasts!
But we are often asked…
Why in the world are you selling BURRITOS?!
So here’s the inside scoop :)
After a long season of eating clean, boring “healthy” meals (too many nights of chicken breast and broccoli), we missed indulging in our restaurant favs. My whole career before becoming a mom was in the service industry, and I LOVE all things pub food.
From nachos and chilaquiles to burgers, fried pickles, chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy, buffalo wings and more, it just felt wrong to have to kiss those dishes goodbye in the name of health.
So we began to create culinary classics made with elevated ingredients!
We really embraced the flavor AND nutritional benefits of eating meals with real, whole food ingredients, sourced locally if and when possible.

And when we shared these meals with friends and family, they were blown away:
“No way this is gluten free”
“This can’t be good for you”
“YUM thank you for cooking!”
Okay but why burritos…?!
When we bought our house and needed to move from out of our apartment, we enlisted the help of close friends and family. Naturally, I wanted to provide delicious, nutrient dense food to keep everyone full, energized, and productive. And I thought, what better way than to have it wrapped up into a burrito - a convenient, one handed, mess free meal.
BUT….
The grain free tortillas we bought from the store would crack when getting wrapped into burritos, and quite honestly, no one especially cared for the bland flavor…. but hey, at least they were gluten free, right? (Ha!)
So we thought to ourselves, what if we made our OWN tortilla that was organic, grain free, flexible enough to wrap, durable enough to hold in a saucy, salsa loaded meal, and actually tasted good…

And after 6 months of trial and error and over 50 different recipes…
WE DID IT!!!!!!!
We made a grain free tortilla that wraps well, looks good, and is freedom-lovingly DELICIOUS.
And just like that, the business was born.
You’re welcome, America!
